Abstract: Investigating seasonal and developmental fluctuations in secondary metabolite accumulation is essential for standardizing indigenous Himalayan herbal pharmacopeias. This investigation systematically tracks the temporal dynamics of bioactive phytochemicals in selected medicinal plant taxa across varied agro-climatic elevations of Gandaki Province, Nepal. Chromatographic and spectroscopic profiling provides quantitative evidence to determine optimum harvesting periods for maximum therapeutic and commercial potential.

Abstract: Cinnamomum tamala (Tejpat) is an economically and medicinally prominent Himalayan species. Using integrated network pharmacology and computational molecular docking, this study unravels the multi-target mechanisms of bioactive phytocompounds against gastric cancer. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks, Gene Ontology (GO) terms, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis systematically reveal critical apoptotic and signaling pathways targeted by active constituents.

Abstract: A rapid, sensitive, and validated High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analytical method was developed and optimized for the quantification of curcumin in fresh Curcuma longa rhizomes harvested across distinct geographic areas of Gandaki Province, Nepal, compared with commercially packaged turmeric powders. The analytical protocol demonstrated robust linearity, repeatability, and low limits of detection and quantification, illustrating meaningful phytochemical variations linked to elevation and post-harvest commercial processing.

Development and Validation of a Green Analytical Method for Calcium Determination in Pharmaceuticals Using Curcumin: A Sustainable Approach

Nim Bahadur Dangi, Hemraj Sharma, Dipak Paudel

International Journal of Analytical Chemistry, Vol. 2025, Article 9 (2025)

Abstract: Conventional methods for pharmaceutical calcium determination frequently rely on hazardous chelating agents or costly instrumentation. This study develops and validates a green spectrophotometric analytical method using natural curcumin as a chromogenic complexing ligand. Evaluated under Green Analytical Chemistry (GAC) principles, this sustainable procedure offers high recovery, environmental friendliness, and cost efficiency for routine pharmaceutical quality testing.
